What is #bankingonvalues?

A new film from the Global Alliance on Banking on Values

A new film from the Global Alliance on Banking on Values

Have you heard of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV)?

Triodos Bank was one of the founding members back in 2009, and the GABV is an independent network of banks and banking cooperatives with a shared mission to use finance to deliver sustainable, economic, social and environmental development. There are 27 financial institutions that make up the Global Alliance across Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America and Europe serving a combined 20 million customers.

On October 22 we’re calling on all members to join the second international #BankingOnValues campaign. We want our customers, partners and affiliates to get involved in celebrating the growing, global values-based banking movement that is creating positive change in the world’s banking system.

#BankingOnValues is about driving positive economic, social and environmental impact by influencing how banks and banking cooperatives serve human needs and the real economy. This is an opportunity to stimulate a global conversation about a new way of banking – and we want you to be a part of it.

This short film from the GABV explains what values-led banking means, and how we all have a role to play in changing finance for better.

The film raises some valuable points but is a little cheesy for my taste and uses a bit too much jargon. If you want normal people to take banking on values seriously you have to make your point in their language. Normal people don’t use phrases like ‘values based financial institution’.

agree with Mike, find it too cheesy and too “american” from an aesthetic point of view …also concerned re use of a child as a main character in, what is effectively is a promotion of financial institutions
